Kentucky's oldest bluegrass festival, the Festival of the Bluegrass, will be held June 10-13.

I am so happy with my grandson Roy and his wife Anna.  As you know, they played a real big role in the Festival of the Bluegrass last year and the plan is that they will soon be the big decision-makers.  They are the parents of two children with a new baby due in a few months.

Some festival business.  Unfortunately, we find it necessary to raise rates for the Festival.  We like to believe that we have done our best to hold rates down -- we haven’t raised them for several years, but, just about all of our costs have gone up.  The Horse Park has regularly been raising theirs charges to us, the bands have had to raise their charges because of higher gas prices and other cost increases; and, we are having to pay for some things that Bob and I and our friends used to do.  But we can help offset the rate increases with some new and improved activities.

An important improvement is that campers in the primitive areas will be able to come in as early as Sunday without charge for the extra days.  We’ve scheduled a potluck supper for Wednesday (the Festival will supply the meat and a few frills) and we think some good pickin’ will go on (We are betting that some of the kids for the music camp will join the adults in what can be a great jam session).  And, we will otherwise be doing things to improve the Festival of the Bluegrass.

We look forward to seeing you.
